CHNA Statement on Diversity and Inclusion

Crescent Heights Neighborhood Association (CHNA) seeks to foster diversity, equity and inclusion in a welcoming, safe, and respectful community that values all neighbors.

Part of CHNA’s purpose is to unite residents, property owners, and business owners within our community.

CHNA recognizes that diversity, equity, and inclusion help to create a more inclusive and welcoming neighborhood for all residents through the creation of an environment that fosters tolerance and mutual respect among community members.

Therefore, CHNA is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment in our organization and neighborhood.  A diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment is one in which all individuals, whatever their gender, race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, age, sexual orientation or identity, education, economic or social status, or disability, feel valued and respected. We respect and value diverse life experience and heritage; we strive to ensure that all voices are valued and heard.

We oppose discrimination and condemn bias on the basis of gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, sexual orientation or identity, education, economic or social status, or disability and will advocate for an equitable and welcoming neighborhood in which all can freely and safely participate, live, differ, debate, and grow.

We are committed to treating all people fairly; we recognize that diversity, equity, and inclusion create a more inclusive neighborhood by fostering community and enhancing our collective quality of life.

We are committed to engage with our community to identify ways to support diversity, equity, and inclusion; we shall strive to support programs and initiatives that foster an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion on our board and in our community.

We shall recruit neighbors to fill open positions on our Board of Directors that reflect the diversity of our neighborhood.
