This time of year, it’s such a joy to see the iconic and entertaining American White Pelicans at our lake. But did you know that over other 160 species have been seen in the lake, our trees, the grass, and the skies? You probably walk by dozens of these birds every day without even realizing it!
If you’re curious about our local feathered friends, please join us for a casual but informative tour of our lake’s birds led by a resident lake-bird expert, John Ficken. He has observed over 115 species at Crescent Lake and leads the biannual St Pete Aububon bird walk here.
Birders of all ages and levels will enjoy the experience. You don’t need to bring anything — but grab a pair of binoculars if you can. Also, it will be helpful if you can download the amazing and free bird-identification App, Merlin at https://merlin.allaboutbirds.org/
